Cam Valley Crematorium opens its doors to everyone
Cam Valley Crematorium is issuing an open invitation to local people to visit its picturesque, peaceful site on Saturday 22 July.
The crematorium is hosting a community open day between 10am and 2pm.
Local people will have the chance to tour the facilities and take a walk in the landscaped memorial gardens as well as to meet the crematorium team and find out more about the work they do and exceptional care they provide to make each service uniquely personal.
Visitors can also, if they wish, take a tour of the crematory.
At 12noon, there will be a release of doves from the site, in memory of everyone who has been looked after by the team at Cam Valley Crematorium.
Visitors will also be able to plant a summer bulb in memory of their loved one, and write a letter or message to them, which can be placed in the memorial post box.
Cam Valley Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 37 sites in England, Scotland and Wales, all set within beautifully-landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.
Sam Cunningham, manager of Cam Valley Crematorium, said: “This is an opportunity for anyone to come and visit us and ask any questions they might have about what we do here and the support we provide to bereaved families.
“We have beautiful grounds here which are surrounded by nature, and we welcome everyone to come here and take time to pause and reflect within our tranquil setting. It is a fitting final resting place to many, regardless of where or when their service took place.
“The open day also gives people a chance to learn about the wide range of work we do in the local community and the support we give to many local charities and organisations.
“No appointment is necessary for the open day, and we very much look forward to welcoming local families to our lovely grounds.”
